split pipe with pics!!

Done a oil and filter change on mk 2.0 8v today and stumbled across a split pipe think its a breather? The car feels jerky when you lift off could this be causeing it?

It won't help matters but you'll probably find the jerkiness on lifting off from the accelerator is due to a manky throttle body and / or a worn engine mount.

Throttle body just needs cleaning, its an easy job theres plenty of threads on here about it.

Hi
Clean the throttle body.
While you are waiting for the hose from VW, wrap some wide sticky tape and test to see if this cures it.

euro car parts had one on the shelf for me the other day.

about 15 quid including VAT. but make sure you get the right one. there are two simular

It is a breather pipe,I would also follow that pipe to where it goes into the block as it splits at the bottom aswell,take the U pin out and just check the pipe over,I've just replaced that whole breather hose on my 8v and it was nearly 40 quid from vw,the part number is written on the bottom

yeh mine had split at the bottom as well.
i got quoted about 45 for just the bottom pipe tho

Yes breather hose and it is one piece

Last time I priced one is was around £21 + vat.
