Sub box
« on: 06 April 2010, 16:52 »
This may be a completely daft question, but I have a mutant 12" sub in a fair sized box. Normally when you see photos of subs in the boot the speaker is pointed out of the boot. Is this the correct way to do it or should be done differently or does it even make a difference?

To be fair mate you can point it wherever you like, I am currently doing a little experiment atm ot clarify this,
But it does look like you get the best sound pointing outward of the boot!
Unless you remove the rear seats then its a whole different ball game

Some boxed subs work better with a bit of room around them, others work better with the port 'firing' at a solid backing from a few inches.

Experiment a bit.

Your ears will give you right the answer.
