issue is elsewhere or leads were damaged, I've used beru ones on all my 16vs without issue.
Those Beru leads I got seemed like cheap sh!t3, super flimsy. Might of got a duff set though.
Going to have a look at the sensors on the head in first instance but failing that I may dump it at that garage with instructions to "fix it", hearty sick of it at the mo. Seem to spend more time fixing it rather than enjoying it. 
hang In there bud,it'll really be worth it once you got it running properly,I went through a stage a few years back when it was one thing after another and was on the brink of selling it but I kept it and did what needed to be done and I'm so glad I did as now it runs properly it's such an awsome car and makes me grin like a child everytime I drive it (which isn't that often these days)

I'm going to try and devote sometime to the lil bastid car. Will pick it up from my folks tonight and go from there.
Going to
1)Raise coilovers to slightly more useable height.
2) Sort out lumpy running issues.
3) Get timing CO2 double checked.
4) Fit my stereo
5) Refit cigarette lighter ( for satnav)
6) Leather treatment and a damn good clean.
7) maybe think about attacking the rust, maybe.
Will more than keep me busy for weekend...
