Up until I saw a rising blue one in the flesh at the stealers I thought they looked pretty bland for the money, which I appreciate is - to some extent - deliberate.
But in the flesh the R's have a lot of prescence.  In the pictures the wheels seem small but in they don't in person.  The extra few mill lowering really makes a difference ... all the small things add up and while it is a little understated compared to the GTI I think it actually has more presence.
A contradiction in terms: 'understated' and 'more presence'. How?
Sorry, the R is an overpriced hatchback with a small boot, full stop.
Overpriced maybe.  Understated with more presence is not a contradiction.  A little dog meets a big dog, which one is doing all the barking and which one doesn't have to

What's that got to do with the price of bread?
Bow wow!

I've seen the evidence of when a little dog meets a big dog  Our neighbour has a jack russell crossed with a German Shepherd.  It's a funny looking b****r

Thats a much nicer pic of the R.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

I love white cars, I think that white R looks great too, I'm surprised I'm saying that.

Just one thing, I know that the interior is quality and I know how it feels and looks, but I think without the red stitching what comes with the GTI, well, it kinda looks like a normal interior now rather than something very smart and classy.
