I've got mk4's on the rear too

You have to use mk2 pads so I was told, and I'm assuming the adjustments mentioned are one of the following:-
1. Make sure you wind back the calliper piston before fitting.
2. Make sure you clamp the break bias valve on the axle before bleeding
3. Make sure you pump the peddle loads to get the calliper piston to 'sit' properly to ensure the pads are on the face of the disk, not miles away !
Also another word of advice - use the bleed valves from the mk2 callipers, not the new mk4 ones as they tend to leak air !
