A GTI with an R engine, running gear and brakes. Manual.
ACC standard and a half leather interior with Recaro buckets and GTI cloth.

Since they won't build it...buy what suits you.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.

Ditto.
However, I would be tempted to try the DSG.

I'm with you on that... but I'd take the DSG over the manual.

I love the heritage of the GTI and the seats... would like to try ACC. Now that my car is mapped I don't understand why VW didn't bite the bullet and send the GTI out with extra thrust to begin with.

(I know there were plenty of reasons... I just wish they had not considered them as much)

Unfortunately I have yet to try a mark 6 GTI never mind a Golf R. However i'm sure the GTI will be plenty fast for me after having driven a nippy 1.4TSI. I love the GTI''s tartan seats and red stitching along with the red strip on the grill which takes me back to my mark 2 GTI.
As for the gearbox, manual will do me fine as I have read numerous reports that the manual is super slick.
ACC should be standard on a GTI at this price level. It will be when the mark 6 comes to the end of it's life span.

On Order Golf GTI 5 Door Manual - Pearl Black - 18' Vision Alloys - Goodyear F1 Asymmetric Tyers - Sunroof - Xenon Lights - Touch Screen Cd Player With Dyneaudio amp and speakers - Folding Wing Mirrors - Dealer Fit - Steel VW kick plates - Front And Rear Mud Flaps - Sill boot protector - Boot liner - 3 year Service Plan - Carpet Matts With GTI Logo And Red Pipping.

No it isn't...I'd like the R running gear. So that means 4WD!
