Switch for me... they had to call the bank and get some personal details - mothers maiden name etc.
I guess it will be the same when I pick up my R... despite me having had the cash in my account for about 8 months!

My dealer insisted on an electronic transfer from my bank account via Switch the day before collection.

Part Ex, then rest via debit card, however..... I get cash back on my credit card so thinking of transfering all the dosh to my credit card, and then paying on that (or max it out then pay the ballance the next day).

Works out at should get at least a few hundred pounds for nothing!

Did this on the other car and got about £300 cash back!

Which credit card have you got? Sounds like a good idea, but generally my card limit is about £5k - which would make a £35k transaction tricky.

There's a few diffrerent ones out there which give cash back (look out for introduction rates which drop after a while).
Tend to be about 1.5%
Also check out if you can go into credit

For the other car, I got a new capital one card at about the same time as it, so used it to pay a chunk of the price and the rest via the debit card - got a good few hundred pounds back.

Not sure what's out there regarding other cards, I think Amex do the same if I recall. Worth checking it out - money for old rope etc.

Just make sure you pay the cash onto the card asap after or before the transaction to avoid interest lol !!!!!

I'll maybe give the dealer a shout and ask if they take credit card.  Given that I've got about 4 weeks, I could probably set myself up with a new credit card in that time.  If its money for old rope, its worth a shot!
