morning all my old stero was well old and had a flip down front eventually it died so i bought a new one well newish one got a cheap sony unit and pennies bit tight with a baby on the way and it wont work either.....ive pulled me glove box out to get better access to wires no problems there just wont do anything all it does is buzzes when first connected which hopefully means its getting power...any ideas any body!?

Check the stereo works first by taking it out of the car. The join the red and yellow wires and connect these to the positive terminal on the battery and connect the earth wire from stereo to the negative connector on battery. If the stereo works it will them power up and you can have another look in the car. When I fitted mine it worked fine out of the dash but as I pushed it into the cage it stopped until I messed with the wiring at the back. Had to get all the blocks down the dash and under the stereo and it worked fine. As you say it's best to have the glovebox out when fitting.     Hope this helps     Cheers      Deano

well i thinks its defo getting poer and ive been trying to fit  with it out the cage as ive also had that problem....the fact is buzzes got me confused as why it wont turn on fully i just want music....im starting to think maybe the newish stero is faulty

Try what dean said above then you will know for sure. If it doesn't work like this then the stereo is faulty.
