Just a little update.....

Absolutely mullered my VR6 front splitter earlier (again ) so thought i'd give one of these ones a try:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110665995953&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_1497wt_1139

I'll report back on how good/bad it is when it arrives. I've also got some bbs centre caps on the way and i'm collecting the BBS solitudes on Friday

Finally it's booked in for a full service including cambelt and tensioners etc. on Monday in preparation for the Rolling Road day the following weekend

I was coming down this hill and it's a little tricky to see but the red section is raised slightly. As I came off the raised section and back onto the tarmac (by the man hole cover) the splitter caught the ground, was only doing about 25mph, and it shattered into rather a few pieces :undecided:

That's got to be annoying, I can't lower mine any more and it feels pretty damn low and so far it seems OK, even on the old speed bumps.

oh and which RR day are you referring to?

I drive that hill every day on my route to work and don't usually have problems, I guess I must have been doing a little quicker than normal today. If I reverse onto my drive I catch my splitter and if I reverse off my drive I scrape the exhaust

Your height is perfect, any lower and it wouldn't look right :undecided:

I'm on about the RR day in Manchester, you heading to the R-Tech one?

I wouldn't mind a slammed mk1 but it wouldn't be this one as I want to drive it.  If I did then it would have to be on some ickle 13's but then my front brakes wouldn't fit.

Maybe you need some air ride.   :lipsrsealed:

That's why I was a little confused as Ill be heading to the R-Tech one as its close. no excuse really.

New splitter arrived and i'm impressed! It's a better fit than the Eurowagens one and seems just as flexible, so it means that the old one can now be binned:

A quick pic to show the smaller gap in the middle:

I also picked up the solitudes yesterday, they are all without kerbing so i'll get cracking stripping the paint off them asap:

I also gave the car a clean, took a few pics on my phone and then spent a while playing with the effects on it:
