If I were you i'd sell the powerflow, get a custom pipe made up to remove the middle box and put your standard backbox on, that way you've got the standard twin pipes with a bit more noise

Just to throw it out there to you I found a pipe on eBay that maybe suitable to remove the mid box it's no good for me unfortunately as mines a 16v but may fit a 8v, search golf mid pipe on eBay and see what you think would be cheaper than a custom pipe. Apologies for the lack of a link writing this on my phone

Cheers mate, i'm not 100% sure what the bore on the Magnex system is, but i'm pretty sure it's bigger than 50mm (which that pipe is). That would probably cause issues with joining it to the backbox  :undecided:

Can anyone confirm the bore of a Magnex system for me?...........Kells?

cant remember the bore, but i can rember those ready made pipes on the bay are about as usefull as a chocolate fire guard.. Avoid them mate. when i fitted mine, some members on here tried these pre made items and they did not fit right, custom bit is the way to go, let them re alighn your backbox too, we had to lob off a hanger on mine and re weld in a slight different location - coz i didnt have the fixing kit magnex supply when u get them new, this kit re locates the hanger point on the car its like a plate, mine arrived about 2 weeks after i got my exhaust fitted  , so i sold it on ebay and got £60 for it!!!

its not available to buy no more..

anyhow in a nutshell, go custom for your centre bit

Just a quick update on the rattling front!

Turns out the rubber hangers for the middle box were perished causing the mid box to drop and touch one of the metal brackets (which have no real use as far as I can see :undecided:). Problem solved by replacing the rubbers and ripping said piece of metal off!

No more rattling/knocking and the backbox sits much better now

Now insured for another year and taxed for 6 months

Just a quick pic of how the exhaust sits now (and how filthy the car is!)

Also bought some bumper vents from bored_welsh_lad, which are ready to be fitted along with some ducting to direct the air towards the holes in my airbox
