Decided i'm gonna wind the coilovers up a bit tomorrow, i'm sick of catching the splitter on everything. Plus majorly pissed off the mechanic who was looking at my exhaust as it was too low to fit on his ramps without a lot of effort

Other than that i've got a black rear badge to fit and a nice block of clay to clean it with

What a pain in the ass, i now hate playing with collies, i have taken my rears off twice now for one reason or another and changed the way they are setup to get them right and i havent driven the car yet!... you'll see when i get my update on later, hope you dont have to raise it too much... I always wondered about garages and lwered cars, bet they hate it.. hope MOT station doesnt have too much trouble when i take mine in.. better keep it sensible height for now me thinks.

Ok small update time.

Gave it a good clay/wax last weekend and fitted new black rear badge, however I didn't get any pics and having done the best part of 800 miles this week already it's covered in sh!te now!

On the subject of mileage I managed to average just over 41mpg over 334 miles (workout out with pen and paper, not mfa!) which i'm chuffed with

I'm loosing water though, over the course of 400 miles my expansion tank went from max - min

I had a coolant system pressure test done today and it doesn't appear to be leaking from anywhere, a chemical test was also done to confirm that it isn't going into the oil so no head gasket issues which is a plus.

The only thing that the mechanic could suggest is that as the pipes are heating up one of them could be expanding and causing some water to escape as steam which would explain why there were no obvious leaks. If this is the case then it looks like the only way to solve the problem is to start replacing hoses!

As soon as my student loan goes into my bank some spacers will be ordered as the coilovers are def going up a bit this weekend

You students and your loans!!!   get some samco coolant hoses while you're at it then!

I'm kinda looking at it as an excuse to tidy up the bay a bit and replace the hoses but samco ones are sooo expensive

As for the mileage it's boring as hell driving like that, but for this week and the next 2 i'm doing almost 1000 miles a week so i've gotta think of my wallet

Ok, so coilovers have been wound up quite a lot! Looks strange it being higher, but the car feels a lot more planted on the road. The 'I Love Speedbumps' sticker has been removed and a black rear badge has been added.

Spacers will be my next purchase

what made you decide to raies it in the first place?... still looks ok, be better with the wheels spaced as you plan.

Because my drive into uni is littered with speed bumps that I catch, also I couldn't reverse up my drive without ripping the splitter out! I'm doing a hell of a lot of miles at the moment and it makes it that little bit easier if I don't have to worry about being too low.

My plan is to get some spacers and drop it a little so it looks right. Run it like that over the winter, sort out some new rims for the spring and lower it again when the weather is getting better again next year. Sensible for the winter, slammed for the summer

The car drives better with it being a bit higher as well, it's not as high as those pics make it look though. If the weather is decent one night this week i'll give it a clean and put a better pic up
