What coilovers did you go for in the end dom??It will look sweet once shes lowered

The hotuning ones that you sent me the link to.

BIG mistake, bouncy as foook!!!

Well they can't be any worse than my suspension at the moment, which is standard with both rear shocks gone! And for the money I don't really care anyway

if you take helper springs out their pretty solid  and can get more lows :afro: can't wait to see them on pal!

Dan

I'm not gonna go mega low because the roads around me are sh!te!

This might sound a bit stupid but to measure the drop, do you measure from the bottom of the threaded bit upto the bit you adjust with the c-spanner?

My collies arrived today!.... very fast delivery!.. i'm confused though, why do we order HTs and end up with a TA Technix box, red springs instead of blue?... also i'm confused, wanted to check what the drop range was, the thread is 170mm, i'm guessing the extra mm is taken up by the helper springs hence why the max drop achieved with them in would be 120mm. i was worried that becaus ethey were TA technix they would only have 80mm drop... sorry does any of this make sense?

Perfect sense, I wondered exactly the same myself. If you measure the thread between the helper spring an the bottom of the strut it's about 100mm.

I'm guessing there's a 20mm drop anyway with these, giving you the 120mm total?

yeah from their ad it said from -20 to 120 so they must already be 20 shorter than standard.  just wasnt expecting what i got and when i searched for coilovers listed as TA tecs they advertised with a max drop of 80mm, hence my original concern... i'm happy though as they are 120s and they are for my car... still sent them an e-mail just to see what the crack is?.. if they reply i'll post the response.  cheers.

Well the ride cannot be anyworse than it is at the moment, so it's going to be an improvement. I've read lots of mixed reviews about them, I could have spent a lot more on a better set but then that would leave my bank account empty! I'm not one to live beyond my means so settled for these.

They come with a 2 year warranty. Even if they break after 2 years i'll be happy and hopefully will be able to afford a better set by then

If I can persuade by dad to go down to VW tomorrow and pick me up some bolts while i'm at work then i'll get them fitted tomorrow evening

Mine were good. I think I'm keeping mine from the GL and chucking them on a new MK3 whenever that is.  :lipsrsealed:
