So, I got a new exhaust!

Big thanks to Alan aka wireZ for his work the other night! He sorted me out with an oem stainless steel back box, center box and front pipe all for the bargain price of £50 :afro:

It did mean a 300 mile round trip to collect but it was worth it. Car feels so much nicer to drive with a proper exhaust on! Here's a quick pic of the new one fitted:

I know it's not hanging completely straight, and the heatshield is loose, and some of the plastic on the bottom of the bumper is melted (this is from when the old one broke and was smashing against it)! But other than that i'm happy with it!

Also slightly off topic but spent most of the day travelling to and from Leeds to pick this up for the other half:

5 years old but only covered 14k miles with FSH to verify and it drives suprisingly well, i'm just waiting for it to break down

Right time for another small update, I got my number plate surrounds earlier so fitted them

Also started to paint my brake calipers the other day but our great british weather let me down, so I only managed to get half of one painted

The main reason for this post is for opinions, i'm still running standard suspension at the moment, but i'm sure the car isn't sitting right.

I know its a bit tricky to tell because the car is on a slight slope, but i'm sure the gap between the wheel and arch on the front off-side is greater than the gap on the front near side? Also the rear off-side looks to be sitting lower than the rear near-side. Am I just imagining this, or does anyone else think the same??  :undecided:

Off-Side:

Near-Side:

My car sits unevenly and it's on coilovers. Has done since I had them really. I'm not sure but I don't think it's much of a problem.

Smoked my fogs this afternoon using E-Tech, wasn't too impressed with it. I only gave it the very lightest of coats and it still ran and formed little bubbles

Looks ok from a distance but pretty crap up close...ah well!

Any opinions??

looks good

re ride height, mine was very bad on its standard suspension for this, i was sure a spring was wrong, once removed they were all the same, just put it down to some sort of wear, i was glad to see rid of it

I think most Golf 3's are lower on the drivers side, if you think about it, it is the side that gets the most use.

You are cursed for not lowering it.

That would make sense but it's the passenger side thats lower than the drivers  :undecided:

It'll be getting lowered soon enough
