Just a quick question i've been thinking about if you drop an immobolizer key or a key with a transponder in water would it still start the cat, im thinking of an original VW key with a cobra imobo key??

I know there no batteries in the chips or anything so i couldnt see what harm it would do.

Cheers
I would suggest you have too much time on your hands if you're thinking about this

Anyway I wouldn't think it was a good idea.

LOL ...

Electrics + Water = Fail.

but what electrics are there in the key, dont really know how they work tbh but i've seen the chips theres no power source inside the key, yeah way too much time, but its better to be prepared than get my brother to drive down with the spare keys.

id say itd be fine because the chip is sealed in plastic, battery for light would likely be fooked, but really not worth the hastle as getting it recoded isnt that easy/cheap

You can get waterproof mobile phone bags etc from sailing shops and on the net. You would then be able to take tyour wallet keys and phone in with you.
Or simply put the key in a condom tied with a knot. Then if you get lucky on your camping trip you will have protection and a method to keep your key dry whilst swimming.

tbh you might get a strange meow from the cat if you try and start it with a key, not sure what hole you would put the key in!! lol

Would start fine. It's not that kind of electrical device.

It still starts when I dropped it in the sea anyhow. :lipsrsealed:
