Thanks again to all who took the time to reply to original query....will put it down to a 'mistake' on my part

The reason I want to fit another lever is because the one on the car operates perfectly well when turning left - and self cancels when the wheel is straightened up.... however..

when turning right, the flashers work fine but the lever fails to self cancel and has to be pulled back manually.... not critical, but annoying ....

Is the fault in the lever unit itself, or has something failed within the steering column/wheel??

It's more than likely just the lever. Mine doesn't self cancel sometimes and I have been told to change the stalks. All the best with the resolution
