Unfortunatley i have that same problem and probs why i still have the crappy wooden look trim.

the wood strips just come off though - no need to remove and swap your radio cage 

this is the question i keep asking people that do this mod and i never get a proper answer but mr rhys im sure like always ul give me a appropriate one ha ha but how do the side strips come off are they slide down and out or they clip in and just prize off i dont know... im sure ul tell

Sort of slide down and unclip.  You just need to be careful doing this as i noticed on the cage I installed a couple of the clips were a little loose

mmm kept that one quiet el rhyso  anyway since you took all that out in an hour you can now do it to the leon and replace the fan switch bulb
