Right I cleaned the throttle body this morning and boy did it need, now I have a problem  when I'm driving and come to stop the revs go to 2000 rpm and then they take about 15 seconds to drop back to normal, the engine is a 18t 1999 agu, has any one had this problem before and how do I fix it, thanx ian

mine was cleaned yesterday did you clean around the edge of the flap that opens and closes as this can stay open when its at idle if not cleaned

I just said the same thing to my mate who actuly done the cleaning and he said he only cleaned wot he could get to with his fingers so it could still be dirty in the corners so off it comes again tomorro for another clean thanx for the help

just drive it around or give it 30 miles and it should sort itself out

I've already done 37 miles and it's still the same

mate take it fully off and clean all the insides and the inside of the flap along the thin edge.  I watched the vag guy do mine yesterday ifs its not clean it will give rough running and idling.

Make sure its thoroughly clean, whilst doing it disconnect battery negative(-) terminal, *Leave battery disconnected for 1hr* Then reconnect, ECU will then re-evaluate.

this will add to the issues as all the basic settings may be lost if it doesnt reset you will need it on vag com if you disconnect the battery

Should I leave the battery connected then?
