WTF!!!!
« on: 05 March 2010, 08:10 »
So came out this morning at half 6 to defrost my windows only to find all 4 of my windows down as far as they could go, my first thoughts was they they'd been smashed and I prepared for the worse as I approached. Rns510 still there as was my iPod in my armrest, phew. Anybody had any similar problems or any idea what could of happened? Maybe something to do with the cold weather?

I seem to remember reading a post about that happening to someone on www.golfmk6 forum.
Dunno the upshot though, sorry.

How does the auto openiong thingy work, you know when you press one of the buttons on th fob from outside and it opens all the windows?  Not played with it on mine yet.
Could it be you stuck your key in your pocket and somehow the button got pressed?

@ danski that's what I'm hoping, it's if you hold the unlock button then all windows open until you let go. I'm just relieved that nothing went missing TBH, I'm going to ring the dealer today and see if they can shed any light on it

If the unlock button on the key fob is held down for a period of a few seconds (about 5 I think) all windows will automatically open. I have had a play about with this myself.

Sounds like you possibly may have inadvertently hit the button for a sustained period.

chances are you have just sat on or accidentally kept the unlock button pressed without realising.

I had an Alfa whose electrics went mad just once.
The sunroof kept opening and closing without any help, the electric seats kept moving on their own, the central locking went crazy, the alarm kept going on and off even when I was driving, the indicators and lights had a mind of their own , the boot kept opening unnecessarily .... what a 'mare!

And then, all this stopped and it was the most reliable car I have ever owned!  Wierd.
