« on: 04 March 2010, 04:06 »
ok firstly not sure if this is going to end up in the right section but if not could a mod please move? ty :)

ok basically just want an opinion or 10 about the best position for 2 subs in the boot of a make 4? iv basically allways had the subs facing the back seats as i was allways told that you get to feel move bass and hear more in the car is this correct or would it sound better facing towards the boot? simple answer so please dont spam with sarcastic bs lol

As bass is non directional in theory you can place the sub anywhere. They are commonly placed with the sub facing the back of the car.

facing backwards towards the tailgate will always be louder as the waveform creates a horn effect
and horns are the most efficient form of speaker enclosures
don't fire them into the seats as this creates a resistive load on the sub and causes cancellation resulting in less bass
