Tyre sizes

Lowered my Gti the ohther day looks cool, just thinking that the standard 205/55/15 look abit balloon like, will 195/45/15 be ok anybody have any pictures of these fitted.

195/50/15 is the better size, 45's can look lost.

They should be 205/50/15 for starters or even 195/50/15 as Wayne mentions. It's no wonder they look balloon like with a larger profile than factory fitted.

205/50/15 is the perfect tyre size for a Golf with 15" wheels.

I wouldn't go with 195's, as the tyres become narrower and looks gayish

GTIs drive better on 195/50/15s in many ways...but hey, they are narrower and look gayish.

I agree with Ess..... but i like the wider look on mine.. with the 205's, thats the only reason

Ess, originals were 195/50/15, right? I'm sure VW know what's the best for their cars...

But since I don't like the "narrow" look of 195's, I think 205/50/15 is perfect.

Most who've tried both will agree the GTI is sharper on 195s.
