5 studding.

i have a full mk3 gti and was thinking if i broke it could i use the hubs to 5 stud my mk2??

if so what do i need to do etc?? its an 1.6 8v ryder and a gti 16v mk3

What's the matter with the 16V engine?!

If you break it that car has rather more interesting bits than bloody five-stud hubs on it!!

only if you also fit the 5 stud wishbones, 4/5 stud bearing carriers have the ball joints offset differently so it throws out the castor. you can however press out the hub from 5 stud bearing carriers and press into 4 stud bearing carriers, but you have to re-drill the 4 stud discs to 5 and fit MK3 GTI outer cv joints.

As DH says though, make sure you at least use the engine ;)

lol being honest the car is clean, engine is sound too.. baught it as a mot fail, failed on front bottom arms, arb bushes and brake pipes. also had a dinted wing. thinking of stripping it as cant be arsed to fix it. thats all. rather spend my time on my mk2

just re reading your post, i just need to change the bottom arms and outer cv's? i have 2 new bottom arms here. what about the rears???

rears are a straight swap. Up front you need to change the anti roll bar, wishbones, cvs, arbs as posted earlier.

Drop the whole front subframe off the G3, re-bush and bolt up under your G2.
