i dont think you need to do anything to the rear beam. AD Autotechnik rekon about an hours work...

Bearing done. no press needed, just hammer and brass drift and punch on both inner and outer race.
The 30mm socket is for the hub nut.

How much a bearing set you back got to do both on mine making a loud rubbing noise now. any 1 got part numbers? cheers

Are mk4's different then?  :tongue:
I've never worked on a mk4, just quoting my experience with other VAG cars.
Have you done any other front bearings except mk4's before?
