Spacers for the right stance?? pics
« on: 20 February 2010, 12:01 »
Hi guys, just joined the site and have searched in the search options for stance advice but couldn't find too much.

Just really a bit of advice on improving the overall stance of the car. It was pretty much all guess work fitting the coilovers last week and after the shocks have settled, i think it's sitting too low at the back.

I've already got hub adaptors in place to fit the porsche rims, would these need replacing if wanting to bring the wheel out maybe 20mm if that isn't too far? Could this fail mot??

The D90's measure 8j and 9j 16's with 195/45/16 rubber fitted all round, only stretched at the back.

Any advice to improve the stnce would be great and if spacers would be the best option or not or even how far to go for that slight bulging look past the arches. Hopefully one of the less expensive mods!

Thanks in advance!! Chris

20mm spacer on the back and shim the back so you have camber
I have a very large collection of vags with good stance most of them are on google.
With a good stance you are going to have to do some arch work.
plus front camber is good, mine is maxium negitive camber

If they're 8's and 9's, my wheels must be at least 10's and 11's

Nice one, cheers for suggestions. Just bought some spacer rings from halfords, 5mm and 9,5mm so i'll see which fits. Really don't want to be funding new adaptors for 20mm so fingers crossed 9.5 will do!

Liking the look of yours kell and joe, something like that would be spot on.

The adaptors on the car cost the previous owner £200 to fit the d90's! Was the same guy who said 9j rear and 8j front which looks like may not be so true then by the looks of it. The front tyres aren't stretched at all on 195/45/16.

Really don't want to be doing any archwork either! Been an expensive month so far so fingers crossed.

In case I do have to go down adaptor route, anyone know of any cheap suppliers. I have read elsewhere on forum that it's not worth going for cheapo ones though so appreciate might have to pay a bit!

Cheers, Chris
