Golf2 16V all day long.
Thanks, for the replies, food for thought there...have to say I agree about the slight chavtastic nature of the big bumper Mk2, but looking at one with the BBS RAs and looks standard Being an old giffer (36) the Mk1 appeals more and I've had my fair share of old aircooled as dailies but still not convinced it won't need serious looking after............by the way I'm also looking at a decent Lotus Elan turbo for the same money! These Golf Gtis have a bit of a premium don't they!
I've got a Mk2 16v on order, but given the choice, I'd take a Mk1... C'mon, it's one of the key players than created the 'hot hatch' market.
What's chavtastic about a big bumper mk2?

It all boils down to personal preference I suppose.. My uncle thought I'd fitted a bodykit to mine To be honest, there'll always be people who don't know about cars that will think a perfect concours mk1 golf is chavvy. Just because it's not a ford focus or a micra.
