VW Golf MK5 GTI Conversion Bumper
« on: 15 February 2010, 17:13 »
Hi guys,

I have a standard Golf MK5 at the moment and would love the GTi bumper.

Is this a good one do you think?

For the price it might be ok ?,the ''real'' thing from VW would cost a hell of a lot more. Only thing with pattern parts is they can be a right pain to get to fit correct.

That looks like 1 i fitted to my GT except i bought mine from Vagen in Ireland.
The quality was like a factory finish and was a perfect fit

Hey Robby, can you swap out the upper and lower grilles separately like on the OEM bumper?
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

Yep the grilles come out, theses are the only visable difference to a genuine VAG part - the rep bumper has gloss grilles instead of matt but you can fit a genuine in place instead

Cool, thanks for the info
I was talking to Topher at Vagen yesterday and he said that all the OEM parts fit directly and that some customers have fitted the GT slatted grills instead. Looks like I'll be investing in this

robby,

Did you use the original bumper bar/headlights etc?
No other parts required?

Can you still get to the tow eye?

Looks good!
