looks like it comes out behind the centre console
get a wire coat hanger and poke it through and see where it comes out inside the car
if it comes out where i think it will come out then you may find it will be behind the heater box which is a real pain in the backside to get behind
in mk4 golfs i always run them up behind the pollen filter behind the passenger airbag
doing it this way makes for a VERY neat installation as the cable gets hidden in the original vw plastic covering trim that leads to the batterry

Do you have any photos of the the power cable running from the pollen filter? You've posted one of the cable inside your pollen filter going to the grommit, but do you have a pic of the engine bay with the wire running from the pollen filter into that VW trim. So i can see it from a clear angle & get a better idea please.

Cheers.

this just unclips and there is a gap in the bottom of it to pass the cable though and under the air filter to the battery

Appreciate the photo, thanks a bunch.

I get how to get it to the battery now, but i'm still a tad confused by how the cable gets from the pollen filter to that plastic trunking.
In your other thread you mentioned that the gromit is on the far left behind the filter, so how have you hid the wiring & got it to the trunking?
Or does the plastic trunking connect to the pollen filter area so you can just run it straight through without removing the scuttle panel (i think it's called) is there a hole you can't see form the pic?

Here's a pic of what i mean, the red obviously being the cable. :)

Thanks once again.

the power cable just runs around the pollen filter housing there is no trunking behind there

So where does it come out of the housing then, i can't see it in the pic so you must routed it through somewhere?
And you wouldn't be able to close the pollen filter panel (the panel with the 4 screws is what i mean) with the power cable
running out from it.

Sorry for hassling you lol.

the power cable has no effect on that cover the cable is routed from the battery under the air filter housing up inside that curved plastic trim and into the scuttle panel and around the actual pollen filter and through the grommet into the car

I get you now. Thanks for that.

I have one more question. :embarassed:

With lots of patience, is it possible to feed the cable through to the inside of the car & through the panels without removing the glove box?

Thanks.

in one word

NO i'm afraid it comes out too high in the car
to remove the glove box you will also need to remove the front section of the centre console as there is a hidden screw that cannot be accessed without taking it out
