remapped cars
« on: 11 February 2010, 22:03 »
yo guys!

the previous owner before my had the car remapped by Rtech, now ive just filled the tank with Vpower, and noticed the engine moves a hell of alot more, and the exhaust seems to be popping?

the cars a AGU engine, with the Ko3 turbo :)

so im just wondering, when the car gets remapped, does it get mapped to what fuel it uses? the owner specifys which fuel he uses, the normal or high grade stuff?

cheers

Only if it was a custom map plotted out on the dyno, otherwise the ecu will just adjust itself on a generic spec 1 map.
Current Car:- 2014 GTI PP manual, white.

ah got ya mate,

the performance is still spot on! was using normal petrol before, but thought id give the vpower a blast, always used that in the past in my Scooby, Focus RS etc :)

but when normal fuel is used, it doesnt move alot, and hardly pops, ill see how it goes. ive got to change the bushes in the dog/bone mount, as myne are shagged completely!

ooo just been browsing the maintenance section, and ive got the symptons of a faulty Temp sensor, so ordered one, and will change that!

cheers

just a quick note to say if you've got a temp gauge fault it's more likely to be the thermostat.  Changed mine today and now the gauge is working spot on.

I changed my thermostat yesterday, gauge goes straight to 90 now like it should. Old thermostat looked fine and opened and closed when I tried it but gauge never got far of the bottom so must of been faulty.

Changed my temp sensor last week, but not made any difference, so need to do my thermostat next. Think I will try and hold on until I get my brakes done in the next month or so.

Yer the temp sender made no difference, the needle drops off when driving so think the thermostat is next :)

yer ive replaced my temp sender with a genuine VW part, and it still drops off when driving,

thermostat is next, thats never been changed since the car was new, so worth it considering the price they are!

What collant you guys recommend? anyone in particular?
