Fairly easy Mate....remove the speedo cable, then remove the two air pipes from the top of the throttle body unit. Undo the four allen key bolts that hold the throttle body in place. Then when you can move the throttle body you will find there are two pipes under the throttle body still connected. One of these has water in so be careful when disconnecting these. Then the throttle body is off the car. Clean all the inside thoroughly with either carb cleaner or wd40m and an old toothbrush. Then reconnect the two pipes at bottom, replace throttle body and secure with the four allen key bolts, replace the two air pipes at top and replace the speedo cable and all done. Should take about 2 hours total.  Good Luck      Deano

The only time the throttle sensor needs to be matched to the ecu on a mk3 is if its an auto.

Buy the missus a new toothbrush for valentines. Then when she is cheesed off and walks out you can use her old one to clean the throttle body.  Job done        Cheers      Deano
