Bilberry & Megs
« on: 11 February 2010, 16:23 »
Afternoon, just a quick couple of questions please..........
I'm going to do my 1st proper cleaning of my car this weekend, I've got everything that people have suggested (cheers Waxamomo), but when it comes to the alloys, I'm a bit unsure how to use the products...  :undecided:

I have some Bilberry wheel cleaner & Megs tyre gel

Megs tyre gel is pretty self explanitary, but how do you use the Bilberry? and when is the best time to do the tyre gel?

any hints tips would really be appreciated

Cheers for now

bilberry... mix to the correct dilution ratio and pop the mixture into a trigger spray or a pressure sprayer

spray on covering the entire alloy and let dwell for a minute (do not allow the product to dry)

work the product into the wheel using your wheel brush of choice... in may case it is vikan brushes

rinse the solution off using a pressure washer or a hose

dry with a waffle or microfibre

i usually apply tyre gel type products at the very very end of the wash cycle... it saves being washed off etc when you are cleaning bodywork etc

Do you have the Megs foam applicator pad?

Saves a lot of mess when applying the tyre shine gel. I would definately recommend getting one if you haven't already.

Waxamomo do them, about £5 i think.

You can buy the washing up sponges with one side sponge and the other a rough pad, thease are ideal for putting on tyre gel, you can get a pack of 6 for less than a quid.

I use the megs applicator, its a great wee tool. Only tip I can give with it is that you may think that there is not much in the sponge/applicator itself, but that little thing sooks up a lot of gel. So while you may think you need to use a bit more, give the applicator a good bit of elbow grease and you will see there's still plenty in it.

As guy as said for Bilberry.

I also have a tyre gel applicator, which I love, and I apply the gel last.
