Hope this doesn't sound too controversial  but I'm no lover of leather, and feel it is intrinsically a less than perfect material to sit on in a car- cool in winter, warm in summer.

However, I appreciate the "luxury" feel n smell it brings, and the durability. And it's the ultimate type of £urnishing.

I agree.
Been said many times before. Some love it, some hate it, I personally had it in my mk5 and hated it for the reasons you stated.

£1,815 for leather is quite incredible.

I have no MKVI on order, but if I did, leather and xenons don't appeal to me and not really needed on a GTi, imo.

Since the R sits as a more premium car, it makes more sense.

Should I be lucky enough to be able to buy a 2nd hand R one day, I would not accept no leather, but on a GTi I wouldn't want leather!

What IS a winter pack anyway? :)

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

I wouldn't want it if it was free. Honestly.

Back on topic - if I hadn't picked the leather seats (which I originally didn't until I found out the R seats get dirty easily!) I would have taken the Winter Pack.  The heated seats would have been worth it for me alone.

With Leather and Xenons, the Winter Pack is a waste of money.  With Cloth, its a necessity

Unless leather is very soft and hence very expensive, I find it very uncomfortable to sit on both at home or in the car. I might eat beef, but I simply don't enjoy being seated on a Bucking Bronco or on a dead cow!

approx £3k for these babies (xen + leather)-value?  Certainly breaks the 80/20 rule :nerd:

Don't like the leather quality or leather on a Golf GTi.
Xenons - could not care less.
Are you satisfied with this answer?
