I wonder whether we can also get the rear seats heated, though there might be problems of running the appropriate wiring looms to the rear seats.
The cost of the part from KUFATEC seems very reasonable.

I`d been wondering about that too, my current Passat has heated rear seats, not that I need them for the back really.

just bought mk6 gtd and wife loved the heated seats on her mk4, but I could not walk away from the deal i was offered on the pre reg mk 6
any help welcome

Yes, but apart from the wiring harnesses you're going to need some heating elements to go in the seats, or maybe even new seats, plus a new climatronic panel so you can switch them on and off. There's bound to be some re-coding in there too. All-in, not so cheap.

You're not that tight surely p3eps?  Spending all that money and missing out on heated washer jets for the sake of another £365, when you've had the car a while you'll wish you'd got them. Trust me, get the heated washers and damn the expense. You only live once [or twice in the case of Meester Bond]

Anyway, great news for me! My GTi was manufactured last week and is awaiting shipping, hoping to get it for "10" plate coming out during week commencing 1st March. It's been a hell of a wait and I'm really getting excited now I know the car is ready.

I personally don't know anything about the company but they are well known.

I emailed them about the harness as they said in their advert to ask for more details but unfortunately they couldn't help me any further.
