I only ever use the paddles for a bit of engine braking downhill.
The gearlever is good for forcing the car into a higher gear than it wants when you are trying to achieve 50 mpg.
Other than that the internal brainbox of the DSG is so much better than me at selecting the right gear.
Usually in D, except in town when there are youngsters in Saxos buzzing around, then S works a treat.
Currently digging a bunker.

You need bigger flappy flaps like me and Phil Mcavity, then you won't have to fiddle with your nobby nob

I like the sound of these larger flapy flaps, could you tell me where you got them from, and are they easy to fit or does it require me removing the steering wheel?
Mrk V, GTI, 3dr, DSG, heated seats, winter pack, cruise control, rear parking sensors and now thanks to GizzyWizzy and SteveP in the MK6 section a RCD 510. Awesome!

Mine cost me around £150 a year or so ago. Mine are the more expensive carbon fibre paddles and not the stainless steel version.
