how do you drive your dsg?
« on: 06 February 2010, 16:28 »
Hi guys

Thought this was quite interesting as in other threads i have seen ppl
state they use different modes as there default.

After having my dsg 1 year now I have only  used tiptronic for about 5 minutes, paddles for about 15 minutes.
I am lasy and just leave it in 'D' drive 95% of the time with 5% in sport.

Always in manual and use Paddles. I have some Carbon fibre Paddle extenders which make the use of them more Fun then the stubby short Oem ones.

Have to admit, do a lot of motorway or commuter (ie stop/start) driving, the car tends to live in 'D'. (Ducks for cover.)

But when I'm on the country roads I love to slip it in to either manual or S for a good blast.

Ahh, a man with the right attitude...same here

In fact when I do drop it into D I invariably flip the paddle for the next gear without thinking as it has become that natural

You need bigger flappy flaps like me and Phil Mcavity, then you won't have to fiddle with your nobby nob
