Dim-dip??
« on: 21 January 2010, 22:43 »
tonight called at my local shop to get some cash, pulled up in front of the window so thought I'd use it as an opportunity to check my front lights, what I noticed that I haven't noticed before is that when sidelights are on the dip beam is also on but only dimly lit? Is this normal? I have never known of a vw to do this before?? I know older fords use to,
have I got a fault somewhere??

Car is a '96 P 8v GTi

Normal on GTIs/VRs and GLs.

Possibly SEs too.

Hack off the yellow resistor, with HIDs it's as annoying as f**k.

You could have a bad earth on your sidelights causing it to earth through your headlights.

It might make more sense to be VWs Dip-Dim resistor working 100% correctly.

Makes dipped beam come on dimly with sidelights, called Dayglo.

Mine don't do that.
