If you are thinking of putting them on the rear shelf - then don't bother. get decent components at the front, a sub in the boot and amp the whole lot up. Will sound way better that having 6 x 9s at the rear.

If you still want to go down this route then try Infinity, Hertz or Focal.

Do you have a budget?

Oh and take 1000watt with a pinch of salt.

i had a set of pioneer TS-A6911 330watt 6x9s in my old golf at one stage with a 100.2 phoenix gold amp, crystal clear and very loud, with a good set of door speakers and tweeters you wont want much more...

Focal everytime even the basic 'access' model range sounds really good and i think the 6*9s are about £100

I was sceptical at TheLoudest.com products, but i bought 4 of their 6x9s these ones and cannot fault them atall. I imagine that their figures are very high but they sounded great.

Car was a 306 Cabriolet so a sub was out of the question as sound had to travel through roof compartment. Had 2 in the rear doors and 2 in a panel behind rear seats.

Used with this amp] and can honestly say it sounded great.

Ive still got they lying around if you want to buy them

2000 peak but 350 rms lol. Dont let this put you off though, through my experience, they sounded great

6x9s work really well in the shelf as long as you dont run a sub.

i've only heard bad things about theloudest stuff. i got cheapy alpine speakers run off a v12 amp and its not bad, but need better comps up front. dont spend lots on the 6x9s as you dont need to. you want the quality up front.

they dont work well in the shelf. think about it, speekers need a good solid mounts (why the speekers in your door ect are screwed to metal so they dont bounce around and vibrate) parcel shelf is not a solid mount. also round speekers work better than 6x9 due to the fact that the oval does not give as good sound ( again the reason why your door speekers are round) but if you are wishing to get some 6x9's so be it, heard some good stuff about theloudest and some bad stuff so not really much use on them. and also recomend the pioneer stuff

I had some Infinity Kappa one's and they were very good, they came with a proper crossover box which is better than the crossover in the wire sh!te.
When amped they were crystal clear but not that bassy, but then I had the Infinity Kappa sub to do the bass work.

What other sounds you got in the car at the minute as this will determine what is best for you and what you want out of the sounds.

I currently have CDT's upfront which are absolutely awesome an crystal clear with great mid aswell, i'm not sure where to go from here though, so gonna keep an eye on this thread and may get some 6"9's

use the small speaker boxes designed for 6x9s, then mount these on your rear shelf
