Are these worth buying as its on my next to do list

people are normally unaware but if you throw a little bit more money in there, you could get a set of porsche 4 pots for that with discs, or for around 25-300 a really nice big set of brembos

312mm conversion is on my list too as my brakes will need doing in a month or two. Started to look yesterday so interested in peoples thoughts on these / buying tips.

Jake, can you tell what to get then and from where in that sort of price. I know you have done porsche brake conversion on yours

As a complete kit that looks pretty cheap to me

I paid £250 about 3 years ago for genuine Audi TT stuff

Unless you want to go to the hassle of sourcing everything yourself, spraying them up etc etc then I'd say its worth it

People always think that the costs are so much more! That is not the case! You can run a 312mm disc with a 4 pot brembo or 4 pot porsche set up! there for the discs cost exactly the same!!!

Pads are marginally more exensive, yet you can get a set of mintex for cheap as chips! Its only 6 pots that really jump in value! I would much much much rather have a nice leon cupra r 4 pot set up than a small brake upgrade like the ones devilz is looking at

The only extra thing that you would need for the porsche set up is custom bracket which i could get you Dave browns details and he would knock the whole lot up for you in a week tops!

He offered me a whole set of FERRARI with lines,discs calipers and fluid, and brackets for £400

Dont get me wrong, as Rhyso mentioned, the 312 will do a great job! Yet at the same time, for a little bit more money, you could have brakes that make your eyes pop out your head when a)looking at them and b)using them

I'm well aware of what can be run.........the way you wrote your post implied you were on about stuff from R32's and LCR's which run bigger discs and are prohobitilvely expensive

You might find that you'll also need spacers etc depending on the offset of your wheels or you'll need new wheels altogether!

I looked at doing the 996 caliper conversion and for me found it too expensive with the added cost of spacers (plus I don't like spacers anyway).  I was staring £500 in the face which is too rich

With a 4 pot brake you would need no more than a 5mm spacer!

My brakes have the biggest housing out of any other 6 pot brake on the market and i only needed a 6 mm spacer!

With a 4 pot you could easily get away with a 4mm spacer! Which........ means that they do not need to hubcentric spacers! as they recommend anything over 8mm to hubcentric, anything lower than that and your ok!

So a none hubcentric spacer kit for the front, would cost around £40

not expensive!!

R32's and LCR's which run bigger discs and are prohobitilvely expensive

They do run bigger discs, yet you can run a 312mm disc, which means they do not cost more!

or you'll need new wheels altogether!

Anything with a wheel that is 18" or over is easily adequate
