Now many Golf Rs are out there?

I'm fairly new here having just bought a Mk VI Golf GTI.  Fancied an R but the dealers I contacted said that allocation for 2010 was gone.  There now appear to be a number at dealers unsold.  From what I gather from Evo at Cheltenham VW these were not expected and have turned up out of the blue - pretty frustrating as I went to see them in the weeks before Christmas but I guess it's just one of those things.  Popped into to have a look at their car and it's lovely but not sure about paying extra for DSG - it means that it's an eye watering £33,500 without ACC, parking sensors etc. 

I would be interested in finding out where the cars are to see if there's anything out there that would meet my needs.  Happy to travel so any tips would be welcome - needs to be 5 door and preferred colour is Rising Blue although that's not essential.

If there's something out there there could be a very well priced 1,500 mile 5 door GTI with ACC, winter pack, parking sensors, RCD 510 and 18" Monzas for sale.

Incidentally would recommend popping into see Evo at Cheltenham VW as he seems to know his fast Golfs which is more than can be said for some local dealers I have approached.

Evening mate, thanks for coming in to see our golf r at Cheltenham VW. What spec do you want me to search for? I can search all dealers in uk every port in uk and germany to find you an r. List will be short but when I am back in on wednesday I am going to try and get all r specs off dialog and post them on here.

there is a 5dr rising blue, acc, p sensors,sat,nav, manual, cloth at wrexham just under 34k also same spec at crewe but dsg jst over 35k

In answer to the original question... I think its more than 20 now.  My dealer counted 20 to me on Friday that he could find in his Dialog system.  Today he said there is now one in Scotland - at the Kirkcaldy dealer.. so I guess there are more en route!

Yeah I can search for the following on dialog

Definately available in port (nothing for months)
Definately available in the pipeline (Again nothing for months)
Available via negotiation in the pipeline ( so peoples cancelled orders that are still being built or stock cars ordered by dealer and will be sent to the dealer)
Available via negotiation at retailer or port ( Physical cars at dealers in uk or ports)

Thanks Evo, would appreciate a list of all 5 door cars.  I think it will have to be manual as I don't think that an auto would be cup of tea.  Not in a desperate rush so could wait a few weeks if unallocated cars are in the pipeline.
