Got the grit blaster on the go today :grin: Wishbones are cleaned ready to be seam welded and got some primer on a few parts (not many pics though I'm afraid);

One cleaned - quick comparison for you;

Paint on subframe;

Not exciting and a bad pic, but seam welded wishbones today;

Don't really know whether it's particularly beneficial or not, but thought I'd give it a go as it's pretty much a free mod :)

Grit blasted a few things today, but not many pics. Comparison shot of the rear calipers below. Took around 2 minutes to do each one  :grin:  really pleased with how they turned out. Ive done the carriers too and will get some paint on tomorrow.

Got my hands on some S2 twin pot front calipers so gonna get them done tomorrow too :)

Right, did the G60 calipers today instead of the twin pots as these were already stripped. Will do a proper 'how to' on refurbing your calipers when I get my new seals etc (unless there already is one, but had a look and couldn't see anything).

Started out like this;

You can see that I've put some tape round the seals and put old brake pipes in as I didn't want to get grit in the calipers. Shot-blasted;

Took about 10 minutes to do each one properly, but they came up great and wouldn't like to think how long that would have taken with a wire brush!

Calipers and carriers prepped for paint;

Two coats of etch primer, pretty good improvement :grin:

Also primed the wishbones, so will paint them tomorrow.

Got some etch primer on the steering rack this eve, going to paint this in high temp paint since it'll be pretty close to the exhaust manifold.

Can't remember if I said, but painting the calipers matt white - picking up the paint tomorrow and caliper seal kits are on order. Wishbones are painted too so will get the bushes in those soon and got new drop links and anti roll bar bushes in the post today :)

Looking to get the subframe all finished and built up first so I feel like I'm actually achieving something - there's lots of rusty bits lying around my garage at the moment :undecided:

Little update, but it's just more pics of calipers I'm afraid. Blasted the twin pots and put some etch primer on them :) Painted the other calipers white too, but no pics as they need a couple more coats yet.

Grubby old calipers;

Split down and taped up;

Quick going over with the shot blaster;

Popped the pistons and seals out;

Degreased and taped up ready for paint;

Primed :)

More tomorrow

Right, an update. Not been able to get a lot done, but hoping to crack on a bit now. Welder should be home at the weekend so hopefully I'll be able to have the car on its side by the end of play on Wednesday next week.

Mostly been collecting parts;

Powerflex rear axle bushes
Steering rack bushes
Tie rods and ends
Steering rack boots
Goodridge braided lines
Stainless bolts for subframe and other bits
Solid front mount

Started cleaning rocker cover - should be finished and in paint tomorrow;

Scraping underseal out of the engine bay is mindnumbing work!

Steering rack in paint;

More tomorrow
