JOM Bargain coilovers? any good
« on: 16 January 2010, 17:35 »
Hi,

I bought my tdi a while ago now and decided to lower it 40mm on springs with original shocks, it now needs a couple of new shocks on the back and im tempted to just go for some coilies as i want it lower. But the hottuning ones i have on mk1 just make it a back braking ride, that is pretty much as low as they go. But if i get something similar to these and dont have it all the way down, are they at all comfortable?

Also any idea whether the spax 40mm springs for my golf would fit onto a mk4 6n polo. Im assuming not but girlfriend would be happy if they do.

Cheers,

Dom

JOM and Jamex coilies cost pretty much the same, with about £30-50 difference, Jamex costing a bit more. I would spend a little more and get Jamex, knowing that it's a well-known, reliable manufacturer, plus good value for money.

In regards of comfort, I think it's the same with all coilies. They're not ment to be comfortable lol

Jamex is cheap compared to Eibach and Koni (which are expensive brands), but as I said, it's good value for money. It's not crap, but it's not overpriced either. So perfect choice for someone without a big budget.

Good value for money. I know people running them on mk2-4s without any trouble.
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3
