good price, i paid alot more for my jamex ones although that was over 2 year ago

wd40 isnt right for this job, you need spray waxoil or copper grease / or any grease all over the threads

i bought some hottuning ones for a jetta i had and put lots of copper grease on the threads. I figured that putting thick lube on em would be worse than leaving em bare as i thought it would attract crap, so i skiiing socks over em aswell. Any one see any problems with this?

have had the cheap jamex ones and there identical to the likes of the hot tuning ones etc... worth the money to wind your car down but there not the most comfy... i used them on vr6's , the lower you went the crapper the damping, it you settled with a decent ride height they were ok but if you went too low (for looks) the ride was terrible... the locking system on the spring platform is ok though, i had avo coil overs on my old vr6 show car and they were a tw@t .. they always used to seize up due to a grub screw which locked the platform off rather than an additional locking ring on the cheaper ones... damping was adjustable on the avos and did imporve the ride a bit...if your going to go coilies its never going to be the smoothest ride!!

Waxoil is better to spray on the threads.

ALL cheap coilies are basically the same thing with different colour patterns and/or spring rates.

The exception to that rule is FK AK's. They are the only decent cheap coilies IMO.

As for what to spray on em / grease em up with, i find castrol chain spray wax is the best stuff. Has to be the wax though, not the chain lube. also wrapping in duct tape or similar after applying keeps em fresh. my mates old golf used same as above, and after 3 years when he pulled tape off, everything was still greased nicely and nothing seized at all.
