Hi guys,
Ive just got given a golf gti with a completely screwed clutch which ive spent about 6 hours replacing tonight.
I put the clutch in exactly the way the old one came out (which was the original clutch) and took it for a drive, whilst driving normally its fine but if I give it some it slips really badly and when I take my foot off the accelerator its makes quite a bad noise from the gearbox/clutch area. Im not experienced in this at all so I dont know what to do basically, so any help would be great. By the way its a 2.0 8v if you needed to know this. Many thanks, Stuart.

This is also the story of my day. Took me 13 hours I ran into many problems. got the clutch in finally and put the tranny back on and the cv joints and the whole shibang. Go for a test run, It slips if i give it just a little of gas. Please let me know if this fixes your problem. Im very tight on cash right now and would rather not reaplce it at this time if i can wait. Thanks so much
