... as its much easier for a 10 year old (maybe thats a bit old nowadays) to drive a DSG than a manual.

Ooh bad boy!! I think Rolfe is the only woman on here with DSG and she had some problems getting used to it.  Me? I'm a woman with a manual. He he

Well i surpose with coments like "Dsg is what everbody wants FACT" he is right. Not. i dont want one and theres a few on here with manuals.  :lipsrsealed:

+1.  I test drove a DSG and a manual, for me it had to be the manual as I like to be in complete control of my car also I just didn't like the DSG but it's all a matter of opinion.  I don't think a dealer salesman should come on here stating that DSG is the future, nobody knows that.

To be fair he's only said he works in the sales dept at Cheltenham, not that he's a salesman. If he is let's hope his manager doesn't look on here. :lipsrsealed:

Dsg cars have better 2nd hand forecourt Value. Just look on vw's national Car database prices.

Same spec cars with DSG to manual go for around £1500 more.

If dsg is the future then I am going to move to a manufacturer that doesnt think so. Been in this dsg MK5 Gti for 4weeks now and its bored the life out of me.  :undecided:

fast?yes
easy?yes
convenient?yes

fun? Nope. but ETTO i guess

As for economy... why can i only get 26.6mpg from the GTI??? Its not much more than the R32 used to give me. :embarassed:

Yes i would say so. great for town, or round a track for those that want to concentrate on steering :lipsrsealed:

Anything inbetween... manual is more engaging.

Automatics have always been easier and more convenient, less economical and more importantly less fun. That's why the Americans have had them for decades (try and and get a manual hire car in the states!!). DSG may be a brilliant Auto box - but at the end of the day that's all it is. An Automatic.

I'm not trying to score points or anything but the DSG is just a very modern (and very good) Automatic.

I know plenty of people really like  the DSG - just my opinion.

Awesome! Cheers - I think I have made money on my DSG then given the discount I got on it
