Any thoughts what I should advertise an 09 plate GTI for, spec as follows, Deep Black Metallic, 5 Dr, 2900 miles, DSG, Leather, RCD510, Winter Pack, Monza Shadows, front & rear park sensors, rear view cam.

Price new was £29,980.00

£20,500 is the p/ex value I have been offered so may sell it privately then.............My local dealers still have launch cars (silver, DSG, Leather etc....) up for £24K or more.

its seems like you can get alot more spec on 2nd hand dsg cars for same or less £ than low spec 2nd hand manuals. Is that 29980 price taken off the new prices?

That's current list price, actual cost was £28K, plus a very long wait....!
