you did put diesel in it yes ?

Yes
you did put diesel in it yes ?

It sounds like someone has put petrol in it.

Does it smoke at all?

Only put Diesel in it and only normal steam/condensation when first starting it up.

Recovery come out and turned the car on, pressed the accelerator it did the same and then came...

Bloke: "Sir, it does look like the throttle isn't talking to the ECU."
Me: "Can we try cleaning it to see if that sorts it?"
Bloke "No"
Me "OK, can you tow me in that ickle van?"
Bloke "No"
Me "So how we going to get me home/to a garage?"
Bloke "I'll get a recovery truck to pick you up, should be here in an hour but could be longer because of all the call outs."
Me "Good thing I wasn't on the side of the road then Like I was this morning when I first called recovery"
Bloke "You called this morning?"
Me "Yes, at about 9:30am - it's now 4:30pm"

Will keep you guys posted!

Worked that one out  The more I spend on cars initially, the more they cost in the long run! £200 'banger' MK2 as my first car and it lasted the longest with not much attention!  I should have just bought 10 £200 bangers

Working @ home tomorrow so I can try get it sorted in the morning.

Yup, I'm sure. I avoid 1cm deep puddles  It was just after a ped crossing and the cyclist was all over the road... he needs cycling lessons

This car's air intake is like 3 foot up so wouldn't have been a problem in that situation  :smug:

It was not wet when I took it out (well a bit of condensation build up but the whole car suffers that) and cleaned off all the dust and muck on the TPS/Peddle sensor, just going down to clean the plug inside the car.

The REALLY annoying thing is when the guy came to recover me it only bloody worked! so I was able to reverse and get on the trailer OK, same as when we got back to mine

Putting it all back together in a few mins and will take her for a drive after some in Neutral testing.
