I do as well. it shows the DSG being slower to 60 but nearly a second faster 30-50. That doesn't make any sense as 0-60 involves gear chnages where the DSG should be faster and 30 - 50 I wuold have thought involves no changes so the times should be the same!

As for which is faster this can only be settled by the same (indpendent) driver lapping a track with a good mixture of bends and straights. But that's never going to happen.

The edition 30 should be faster but the normal GTI's should be about the same.

According to those figures posted the Mk5 is quicker in every area bar the 0-80mph and the 30-50 if the MK6 uses DSG   :undecided:

So much for progress........

Especially the MKV manual 0-60 time of 6.0s - granted I'm rubbish but 6.7 or 6.8 is more likely.

^^^^^^agreed
MKV GTI | Reflex Silver | 5-dr | Anthracite 17" | Manual | Highline MFD | Cruise | Revision 'D' DV | Dirty Pipes |

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

But they've ignored the MKVI Golf in all forms so far so I doubt we'll be seeing a GTI lap let alone a GTD one. I'd hope they'd feature the R in the next series.

MKV's have been verified on timing gear to be much quicker than the stated VW times. Pretty sure a couple of mags have had 6.0 out of them, i assumed the MKVI is the same but maybe not.
