Fiscon Bluetooth

Just read on the Mobridgeinc.com website that they use the Parrot bluetooth, which is pretty much the industry leader. The software can also be updated to support new phones. I've made my choice.

Mmmm, that looks like a good kit, I`ve ordered a vw touch kit, but thats a dealership option, so wouldnt change the factory order if I cancel it. I also dont fancy having a screen that looks like a sat nav unit in the car, in case I forget to take it off everytime I leave the car.

Does anyone know if this will be a DIY fit?
I`m quite happy pulling the headunit, but if I need to start splicing wires and stuff it may get a bit too scary for me.

Mobridge unit can be fitted yourself simple job no cutting or spliceing of cables, the only problem is it will need coding to car afterwards with VAG comm, So for what it cost for them to fit and code it, i myself would leave it to them

thats £150 fitting which seems steep..

...Especially if you know someone with VAG-Comm - IIRC theres instructions somewhere on how to enable the Fiscon with Vag-comm, anyone know if this will be the same?
I reckon you local friendly VAG specialist would enable it for a few quid (or free in my case) if you can fit it yourself.

Thankfully as a private motorist I see bluetooth as an inconvenience rather than a convenience. How dare anyone interrupt my Rush sound track. My mobile is for emergency use only and for that I can stop the car.
I have bluetooth in my current car and have never paired up my phone. Luckily my wife does not know we have bluetooth

rSAP is a Nokia technology, which means Apple would need to pay for using it. Apple does everything in-house - apparently Steve Jobs is a MASSIVE control freak - so would not want to buy in someone elses tech. Especially Nokias. Plus, no one is going to give up their iphone just because it doesn't talk to their car - and Apple know that.

I actually read that it´s not a Nokia tech, but that they are the biggest user of it. There is also Blackberry and Siemens phones that support it, but Nokia seem to big the big player in the rSAP community...

I bought the Fiscon - £300 in the Group Buy section.  Tried and tested by many forum members and highly rated.
It seems to be complatible with most phones - and the update is done by the user - not sending it back to Germany... as they have them available for download on their website.

I tested the multiple numbers under the one contact on the Fiscon.
When it downloads the phonebook to the Fiscon it automatically downloads all the numbers under the one contact so you have them available to you on the touch screen.
