Has anyone contacted VW UK about this? The iPhone is one of the top selling smartphone handsets globally and yet VWs don't work with it.  While this is clearly an issue in the UK, surely it must also be a problem in the Fatherland for German iPhone users. Surely there must be a third-party unit that unlike FISCON fully integrates iPhone operation with all of the steering wheel phone functions / controls?

I went for Fiscon over VW because I have an iPhone, simple as

I now have an iPhone (previously Sony Ericsson) with Fiscon. Strangely the iPhone doesn't seem to integrate as fully with Fiscon as the Sony. When the Sony connected, I could view all of my call lists from the phone whether they had been made through Bluetooth or not. With the iPhone, it only seems to show calls made/received during the current Bluetooth connection. Yesterday I called Orange Answerphone to listen to a couple of voice messages while connected to Fiscon. No problem making the call, but Orange Voicemail requires that you select 1 to listen to messages. Opened the keypad in Fiscon on the RCD510, hit 1, and nothing happened. Keypad doesn't seem to work (for me at least) during a Fiscon call. Anyone else had issues with iPhone integration?

I have this problem on my Sonyericcson phone as well.
Phoned the bank the other day and it asked me to press a number and no amount of pressing it would send the tone! So its not just the iphone that suffers this. Maybe it is a bluetooth thing?!

Glad it's not just me! I'm guessing that the keypad is fine for dialling a call manually rather than using the phone contacts, but once in a call it doesn't work. Of course the woeful Fiscon "Owner's Manual" doesn't help at all.

That's the US Bluetooth which is not rSAP. It uses the common hands free profile and allows voice dialling etc.

If only the EU version could work with the standard HPF (Hands Free Profile) that all phones support, cant belive VW could mess the bluetooth bit up so bad.
Must got a bribe from Nokia...

I think that it is ridiculous that VW still can't integrate an iPhone or Blackberry successfully with the RNS510. We have such strict rules concerning usage of mobile phones while driving that you'd think VW UK would be on top of this by now. I have already contacted Apple about this problem and I'm going to speak to VW UK about it tomorrow. I'll let you know how I get on.
