My car was ordered mid August too and similar to you i was quoted end nov delivery, my dealer has been a nightmare to deal with and the two dealer staff i have delt with so far seem to not understand the simplest question, or request i have asked of them!  They have slowly drove me insane  I sent a letter to VW customer service about the delay August orders are all suffering, I got a phone call in December from VWcs to say they recieved the letter and that someone would contact me by phone in 2 to 3 working days, thats 9 working days ago now  I simple have lost the will :undecided:

8 Months is way over the top. One word I would be using is "COMPENSATION"
The reply i got from my dealer was interesting,   basically they were saying in dealer speak due to the high demand they know they can easily pass a build slot to someone else so they have been as unhelpful as they could possibly be without been too obvious! They don't care to help me or be bothered and VW customer care well.

I was thinking, all those on the August list should fly to Germany, sneek into the assemnly plant and chain ourselves the production line and demand our cars, pronto. That police in germany carry, its the only reason I can think of right now not to. I dont like waiting much.. :lipsrsealed:

I did think of asking for it in kit form! I have restored cars in less time than its took VW to build a new one.

Great news! let's hope the don't shift you back any further, nice to have a 10 plate any chance of getting a GT prefix? sure leather will be fine, I just went for cloth cos I liked the look of it + I'm a tight b!tch, wanted xenons and couldn't justify both.

The car though is everthing I hoped for and more, it's even been fine in the snow! guess that's down to the Bridgestones.

All the best.

Wouldn't I need to get a private plate to get a GT prefix? If the choice or car registrations is similar to when I bought my Astra 3 years ago, I was told what the plate was and I was lucky to get a few fumes in the petrol tank. My first stop in that car was to the petrol station a few miles down the road

Brighton area registrations start GO through to GY so I guess that GT10 would fit in with their registration plates, just a thought!

My dealer's been as good as gold over the problems with my Golf but I doubt they'd relocate from Hertsfordshire down to Brighton-  Nice idea though   The registration area for me is Luton which starts KA-KL...

Yeah see your point.

I bought an Astra from network Q in Watford in 2001 and that had prefix KJ.

Anyway good luck when you finally pick the car up you'll soon start racking up the miles.
