Looking at joining the MK2 Clan

First things first, I am not selling my MK3, just my astra, and the reason its going is to make room for a MK2.

I am only after a driver as I will be using the car to do a lot of mileage in so something economical is needed.

So can you MK2 buffs give me some info on what to look out for, and what would be the best model to suit my needs

my 8v is more economical than my driver, prob cos its injection. i personally would get a f/g/h/j plate 8v for an every day drive. 16v if you want but economy suffers a little

depends, but not loads to be honest, my gti was only about 150 quid more, but after a year is now less than the driver was, im with elephant.co.uk and they are cheap. get some online quotes for both cars to get an idea

you can pickup nice 90 spec 8v's for around 1k today. mileage aint a big worry if its been well looked after. rust is what you need to be looking for!!

i think that would have increased after you crashed it due to the extra 'speed' holes in the wing  :Pand the fact it was lighter cos on wing was unpainted.  ;)
