or sell the mk3 gti, get a nice mk2 gti and another economy car mk2 or 3 cos mk2 gti's are more fun than mk3's :D :P

My 8v will readily do 40mpg at 70 on m-way.

Just averaged 37 going from Hudds to Bristol to Liverpool n back. And i may have crept over 70 at times  :o

Its much more economical than my old 1.6 driver.

Hi, I have a 1989 MkII Gti, it averages 38 - 40 MPG. I have also just bought a new Renault Megane 1.5 cDi with a claimed 60 MPG, actually 52 MPG. The Megane is great to drive and has amazing accelaration and overtaking power, however, I would rather drive my Gti anyday. It is so much more alive and responsive.
